Lesson Plan Analysis - Reflection
We were given an assignment to analyze a lesson plan connecting it to the multiple intelligiences. We chose I'm Me, I'm Special lesson plan. We read and underlined specific areas that related to the multiple intelligiences and thought of additional activities that could apply to areas not covered. Artifact 2: Digital Story

Donna Meehan - Digital Project Description
I chose a child in my classroom whose greatest interest lies in building objects. He can build objects using just about anything we give him. I followed him around one day to see the variety of materials he used in building and pretend play by himself and with peers. I was concerned at first with this child because I never saw him choose any other centers but math and blocks. I soon realized that he was moving material from one center to another and incorporating these things into whatever he found that would go along with the intent of his play. By doing this project it helped me to be a better observer in my own classroom and discover things about my children I never really focused in on.
Attempted to upload power point, but file too big message appeared.
Reflection of digital project:
I used Power Point because once I began exploring it, I found it user friendly. I learned a lot working on this project. This project gave me the confidence to explore various areas in Power Point. By making mistakes, I became more confident because I had to find the answers myself. I was unable to record voice over my project, but I will continue to try and record over this power point even though the class is over. I will also attempt to do one for each child in my class. I also would like to explore adding music and animation to it.
Learning environment/classroom application:
I would like to create video presentations of the children throughout the year to present to the parents at the end of the school year. I could use a digital camera to record a day in the life of a preschool classroom and use it to help train incoming staff. I will continue to explore other programs to help my classroom in creating various stories. I would record the children retelling and acting out stories, working on group projects like the ones we do on earth day and creative movement activities. The biggest challenge I face in the classroom is having the time or coverage to help complete these projects. I am going to work on management since I have a better gained increased knowledge in this area and can show them some samples of the wonderful projects we can do with the class and build great portfolios for the children. I also need to have the IT department give us access to more programs or we will be limited in our endeavors.
Artifact 3 Learning Activity that Integrates Technology
This lesson was designed to familarize young children with the alphabet, the sounds that each letter makes, and familiar words or objects that they can relate to each letter. It also was meant to help the children become familiar wtih using a computer cooperatively with the supervision of an adult. The lesson is also on-going and many activities can be integrated into it.
I learned so much from this activity by doing the research and gathering information to help with the idea I had. I also came across great web sites that I can refer to for other activities. The only thing I would do differently is break it down further so that I could give the children who were taking longer to apply the lessons to feel comfortable enough to eventually become independent in doing some of the activities.
Some challenges will be the direct supervision of each child on the internet which is difficult when conflicts arise in the classroom that take me away from working with them. I work in a reverse mainstream classroom with early intervention, children with behavioral issues and typical children ages 3-5. Allowing the class to take the whole school year to work through this lesson will give me a better chance to make sure each child is comfortable at his/her level.
